1.manner of application
machine – label aspect has to be specified prior to printing
manual – allows a larger scale of cutting forms

2.environment conditions during application
for example temperature, humidity, etc.

3.base material
– what material will the label be sealed to (smooth, rough, straight, rounded, small diameter as test tubes or a wire, cardboard or other specification)

4.storage conditions after application
– it is important to know whether the final product and label is to be used in humid, wet, cold or hot environment, and how long is the product supposed to be stored there

5.whether there will be additional printing on the final label
if yes, what kind of printer will be used (for example, laser printer requires special materials)
