FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is a corn?
Hollows are empty cylinders of different diameters produced from cardboard of spiral or parallel winding. Usually, these are used as a foundation for wrapping different products, in this case printed matter (labels, sleeves, paper, etc.).
What is inner and outer winding?
If labels are rolled upon the hollow in a way that the actual label is not visible but the silicone carrier is visible, we are dealing with the inner rolling of labels. If the actual labels are visible on the hollow, we are dealing with the outer rolling. The form of rolling is to be specified by the client prior to label production.
What way is the sleeve applied in?
The sleeve is always applied by the effects of heat, in a thermal tunnel or by a different (easier) source of heat. The difference may be in the division stage of individual sleeves, in which they are dispatched. During the hand application is the sleeve separated manually (scissors, knife, etc.) from the disc within the transparent part, which is further divided into individual motives (parts). Later, it is put on the product. Products are usually put onto an assembly line which carries them into the thermal tunnel, where the heat ensures shrinking of the wrapping around the product (a bottle, a can, etc.) During the mechanical application all the above mentioned operations are done by the machine.
What is the difference between the neutralization of the adhesive material and printing into the adhesive material?
Both of the above mentioned technologies need a delaminating equipment to separate the printed material (usually paper) from the silicone carrier. After the separation, in both cases, the objects are printed directly to the adhesive material. After the printing, both of the parts are connected. The difference is in the color used. During the neutralization, selected parts are printed with specialized preparation, which prevents its adhesiveness – the adhesive material is no longer functional. During the printing into the adhesive material, the printing (usually text, instruction for use) done with a color. After this technique, it is possible after the application of the label onto a transparent product (a transparent bottle with transparent contents) to read the text. The advantage of this technique is that the product is wrapped in only one label instead of two (front and rear), which is financially more appropriate.
